About Mrs. Lewis

Welcome to room 26 at Kempsville.  I know we are going to have a great year. Let me introduce myself.  I am Donna Lewis and this is my 18th year teaching.  It is my 11thyear in third grade at KES.  My husband, Doug, and I live in the neighborhood and our children are Kempsville High School graduates.  Our son, Jim is married to a Kempsville girl and is a firefighter in Greenville, N.C.  He and his wife have a Great Dane that the children will, I am sure, hear about as the year goes on. They also have a beautiful little girl named Lainey that I know the children will hear about.  Our daughter, Sarah, is a graduate of George Mason and East Carolina University and is a guidance counselor for John B. Dey Elementary.  She is just got married this summer to a young man in the Coast Guard. I can't wait to get to know all of you!

What to expect in third grade...

This year I will be team teaching with Mrs. Hedly.  I will be teaching my homeroom Math, Sciene, and Language Arts.  After lunch, I will head over to Mrs. Hedley's room to teach science while she teaches social studies in room 26. Then I have a chance to read aloud to the children (my favorite time of day) before we continue with language arts for the rest of the afternoon.   Both of us will be available to talk with you whenever you have a question or concern.

Subject Specifics!

Yes, I am a very proud grandmother.  Lainey was born March 23rd and weighed 9lbs. 4 oz.
